Keerai Dhal Curry (Spinach Dhal Curry)

This is a tasty and healthy dhal and can be paired with roti or rice. Its very easy to make as well.


Ingredients:

- Thuvar Dhal - 3/4 cup
- Moong Dhal - 1/4 cup
- Spinach (can use Methi, Palak or any other type of Spinach) - 1 Packet or bunch
- Onion - 1
- Tomato - 2
- Green Chilies - 3
- Garlic - 3 
- Turmeric Powder 
- Salt
- Sambar Powder - 2 Spoons



Method:

- Pressure cook all the above ingredients with 2 cups of water.
- After the dhal is thorougly cooked, open the cooker lid and let it simmer slowly while you the garnish.
- Extract the juice of small piece of tamarind or half a lemon and add to the dhal. If needed add red chilli powder.
- Heat oil and add curry leaves, Mustard seeds, Jeera and Urad dhal and add to the dhal.
- Cut the heat and enjoy :)
